I donated some dog food & decided to see what dogs were available. The entire staff was rude. They eventually called my references, it seemed to go very well & I thought I was going to adopt a dog (yay) but one of my references told me the woman who called did not like the breed of dog I already have at home. Unfortunately, the adoptable dog could of had a really nice life & gentle playmate. After talking with other people I found out that the shelter is known for the rude people. It is small, dirty (animals are dirty too) & the people are miserable. It is a shame you can’t adopt from there without actually dealing with them.

Truthfully. It was a very decent place, I recommend it. However, within a month there was no choice to return a dog we adopted because my life was turned upside down. There was a snarky, insensitive worker that not knowing all the details, I felt was harassment. Gone thru a length of time a DV situation, and doggie not house broken was too much to bear. The person that adopted the dog was transfer to a psych center, I was left alone with all the weight in the world to carry. I had to fill out a form of returning the pet, I sigh and felt pain to sign it. Once I had to filled out the last page with my signature, I cried profusely, partly because of the insensitivity one person had. The two most important souls in my life are now gone. I knew that when I go home now, my house will feel empty. I still smell the doggie in my home, my couch, my bed. Subconsciously, I still look for him, and I still think I am rushing home to feed and walk him. So, if the employers there does not know the whole story, they should not be snarky and judging anyone that enters to return a pet. It's only been one day, and I still find myself in tears. Love you dearly Rex, know you are so missed and hope you find the perfect couple that adopts you. You are the sweetest, loving large pet I ever had. Wish i had the strength and the money to have kept you. The rest of the crew was kind. That one person , should be put in check.
